Classes, Retreats, & Events
The Self & Soul Center provides ongoing training, classes, and spiritual events to support a student's lifelong process of unfoldment. The courses include psychological and spiritual trainings that focus on the whole self -- body, mind and spirit -- to integrate one's essential self into a true human being.
Meditation and chanting, inquiry and sensate focusing, disengaging from the inner critic, and developing compassion are the core skills which are taught to support recognition and knowing oneself. These tools naturally support maturation and allow greater ease to enter one's life.

Soul's Orientation, Cities of the Soul , Healing Service, Qualities of Our Being, Eve. of Remembrance
This introductory course teaches basic skills to identify and work with one’s personality. Learn to recognize and disengage from the inner critic, self-soothe agitated internal states through the use of empathic statements, own projections (positive and negative parts of oneself that are placed on others), understand old patterns of relating and their effect in the present, and practice synthesizing skills. These tools provide a doorway that allows for deepening in the other courses and are a prerequisite for the ongoing Soul's Orientation series.

Mining the Gold 2 - Into the Body
A new class to deepen into an embodied experience of your essential nature and refine your skills of disengaging from the inner critic and child states. This class will work with movement, chanting, meditation and inquiry. Prerequisite: Mining the Gold or permission of instructor.
Fall semester: 5 classes August through December

This ongoing training combines spiritual practice with psychological understanding with a focus on the belly, heart and mind centers. A combination of retreats, small groups and individual sessions provide the maximum opportunity to learn how to work with your personality and recognize your true nature. This course of study is integrative, drawing upon diverse ancient and modern systems of psychological and spiritual understanding.

Cities of the Soul One Day Retreat
Experience a transformative Journey through the Cities of the Soul One Day Workshop. Using the recently published book by Raphael Rod Birney, MD, participants will travel through the seven cities each representing different challenges in spiritual growth. Aspects of the Enneagram, Sufi psychology, and other disciplines are incorporated. There will be discussion, guided meditation, and experiential practice. Lunch is included.
